Statutory Registrations

Before your business can operate legally in South Africa, you must complete several key statutory registrations. These are not just formalities — they’re essential for tax compliance, employing staff, and protecting both your business and your employees.

We assist with SARS registrations for income tax (for entities not automatically registered to income tax when registering with CIPC) as well as VAT registrations (voluntary and compulsory) and payroll tax registration (UIF, SDL and PAYE).  We also assist with registrations as turnover tax taxpayers.

We also assist with registration at the Department of Labour for UIF (Unemployment Insurance Fund) and COIDA (Compensation Fund).  Both of which are mandatory for employing staff in a business.

UIF benefits protect staff in case of retrenchment, short time implemented, illness/injury, or maternity leave and provides a death benefit to close family members dependent on a staff member in the event of their death.

COIDA protects your business from liability if an employee is injured or becomes ill due to work-related causes.
